Mineral Class 03: Halides |  |

The halide mineral class include those minerals with a dominant halide anion. Two commercially important halide minerals are halite and fluorite.

Fluorite (icy green) - Hunan Province, China
Fluorite (icy green) - Hunan Province, China

Light blue Bingham fluorite and bright white calcite crystals in quartz matrix
Light green cubic Fluorites that sit up from both side of the matrix. Instead of covering the matrix entirely, the crystals have spaces between them where matrix shows, framing the crystals nicely and making the specimen unusually attractive The biggest cube (34x34 mm) looks a bit "frozen/icy".
The clusters of cubes on the other side of the matrix are half transparent.  Dimensions: 200x100x80 mm. Weight 0,915 kilogramme.
