Fluorescent quartz from the Johannes Mine, Göpfersgrün, Wunsiedel, Fichtelgebirge,  Germany. When short wave UV- light strikes the specimen, the quartz emits a weak green glow. Measures approximately100x80x70 mm and weighs approximately 0,600 kilogramme.

The Johannes Mine, Göpfersgrün, Fichtelgebirge is a ancient mining area in Bavaria.
The location is now long-defunct and most specimens are of very old heritage, this specimen was found in 1980.
The locality is well known for steatite (talc) pseudomorphs after quartz, calcite, dolomite, tremolite and vesuvianite.
