Chromium is the trace element that causes ruby’s red. The strength of ruby’s red depends on how much chromium is present. It also causes the red fluorescence, the more chromium, the stronger the red color.
Anyolite is a very colorful rock composed mainly of zoisite. The natural material is also known as "ruby in zoisite" because it is composed of green zoisite with bright red ruby crystals.
It’s sometimes accompanied by black hornblende. Anyolite is actively mined as a decorative stone and as cabochon material.
