A small but excellent specimen with small, sharp, and shiny Hansmannite crystals; nice example of a somewhat rare manganese mineral with a bit calcite.
Dimensions: 40x20x15 mm and weighs approximately 0,330 kilogramme

The type locality is Oehrenstock (Öhrenstock), Ilmenau, Thuringian Forest, Thuringia, Germany, where it was first described in 1813.
High quality samples have been found in South Africa and Namibia where it is associated with other manganese oxides.
