Cluster of well formed deep green, half black translucent vivianite blades (up to 16mm long), from a classic location Kerch peninsula (Kertch peninsula), Crimea peninsula, Ukraine.

The Kerch iron-ore deposits are well known through beautiful vivianite specimens as well as many other minerals.
The iron-ore deposits are sediments in an ancient sea; because of that many minerals occur in the form of pseudomorphs after fragments of fossilized animals and plants.
