Nice cluster smoky brown to dark brown, razor sharp, ferro-axinite crystals.
Axinite forms in characteristic, flattened tabular crystals with sharp edges, and in dense clusters of such crystals; like this specimen has.
Dimensions: 45x35x30 mm. Weight: 0.030 kilogram. Largest Crystal about 20 mm.
Axinite was named in 1787 after the Greek word “axine”, which means "ax", in allusion to the sharp crystals of this mineral.
