Native gold var. electrum. Very bright gold crystals on a quartz matrix crystallized. From a classic Europe location; Rosia Montana (Verespatak).
Measures approximately 50x35x25 mm and weighs approximately 0,040 kilogramme.

Rosia Montana is one of the most famous gold ore deposit in the Apuseni Mountains, and also one of the oldest historical sources of gold in Romania and in Europe.
The rich mineral resources of the area have been exploited since Roman times or and probable before. The last state-run gold mine closed in 2006 in advance of Romania's accession to the European Union.
Native gold and other beautiful mineral samples from Rosia Montana are famous and most wanted in mineral collections.
